About

MusiCards is a visual browser for MusicBrainz releases and artists. It focuses on album-based exploration, detailed track credits and structured display for classical music. The content is presented by a card metaphor on iOS and a liquid glass accordion metaphor on macOS.

How to use

• Search by artist name to browse artists.
• Type , release title or , track title with a starting comma to search without specifying an artist.
• Use artist, release or artist, track for combined search.
• Paste a MusicBrainz release MBID into the search field and press Return to open that exact release.
• On iPhone, tap the Shazam icon on the left side of the search field, allow microphone access and play the music. MusiCards will use the recognized artist and track to find matching releases in MusicBrainz.
• Scan CD barcodes using your iPhone's camera.
• Drag the cards up or down, or tap their top edge, to expand or collapse them.

• Search by artist, release title, track title, barcode or MusicBrainz release MBID.
• Shazam recognition, CD barcode scanning and Now Playing matching (iOS).

• Matching releases and versions for track searches.
• Music service and Discogs links when available in MusicBrainz.
• Card navigation on iOS and Apple's Liquid Glass accordion on macOS.

Privacy Policy

MusiCards does not collect, store, or share personal data.

The app stores recent searches and selected items locally on your device using system storage.

On iOS, microphone access is used only when you start Shazam recognition. MusiCards does not record or store microphone audio.

MusiCards connects to external services to retrieve music data:

• MusicBrainz for music metadata.
• Cover Art Archive for album artwork.
• Apple's Shazam service for user-initiated music recognition (iOS).
• Apple Music for Now Playing matching (iOS).
• Wikidata and Wikipedia for artist information when available.

These services may process requests according to their own policies.
